A Londoner born and bred, James joined Final Cut in 1998 initially as a humble runner and slowly worked his way up, cutting his teeth under some of the most talented editors in the business.
James combined his musicianship with his burgeoning skills as an editor working on many music videos. He was fortunate and grateful to find himself working with top promo directors including David LaChapelle, Sam Brown, Paul Hunter and Matthew Rolston. In 2007, his edit of The Enemy's ‘Away From Here’ earned him a UKMVA nomination.
James soon transitioned into commercials to cut award winning projects including D&AD winner Virgin Media ‘Fantastic Journey’, British Airways, Skins, Audi Drink Drive, and more.
James considers himself a lifelong student of his craft, and writes about the creative process on his website, constantly pushing himself to learn and discover new ways of approaching his work.
