5 months, 17 Shifters, 3 pitches and 1 Showcase

Our Shifters have embraced five-months of online and in-person learning with over 15 creative agencies, across multiple disciplines from creative direction and design thinking to pitching, strategy and creative thinking. This class of 17 self-made creatives worked with Google and Kua on two real-life creative briefs, as well as a 'brief-in-a-day' challenge with adidas. They are leaving the program ready to apply their skills to the industry and here's your opportunity to see what they're made of.

What is D&AD Shift with Google?

D&AD Shift is a free night school, for self-made creatives without a university degree. This program is for those wanting to enter the commercial creative industry. Shift will aim to teach you about what types of roles are available to you within Advertising and Design.

This year is our first year of Shift in Sydney. Shift is being delivered part in-person and part online, with industry experts from Sydney’s top brands and agencies delivering two night school sessions a week from March 2022 to June 2022.

Are you drifting off at your day job? Is your mind in a sketchbook or your heart slamming poetry on stage? Are you scheming your exit and planning how you’ll turn passion into your profession? Have you got that niggling feeling that you’ve got something to prove? Well, now’s your chance. It’s time to move.

Shift is a fully funded night school for self-made creatives whose heart is racing, toes are tapping and eyes are widening just reading this.

With creative pros at the top of their game at your fingertips, stacks of knowledge and industry experience is all within reach. They’re ready to help you and push you through real briefs that will come to life with your fresh perspective.

It’s going to be go go go from the get go. And that’s perfect for you. Because you’re not interested in smooth sailing; you’re ready to make waves. Sydney, it’s your move.
