Giant Kung graduated from the Fu Jen Catholic University Department of Advertising & Public Relations. In 2000 he joined Ogilvy Taiwan as a copywriter, steadily working his way up to Chief Creative Officer in 2020. To date, he has 21 years of experience in the advertising industry.

Some of his most representative works have arisen from his long-term collaborations with the brands Vedan More Water and Px Mart in Taiwan. His work has been lauded with the grand prix at such advertising competitions as AAAA Taiwan, Times Asia-Pacific , AAAA China, and LongXi, and he has also won honors at numerous international competitions including London International Awards, Cannes Lions, Clio, One Show, and D&AD. In 2016 he received the distinction of a One Show Gold Pencil, the first Gold Pencil to be won by anyone in Taiwan. Currently in 2021, Giant has won 1 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze at Spikes Asia, 2 silvers and 1 bronze at Clio, 2 D&AD Graphite Pencils, 3 D&AD Wood Pencils, and 2 bronzes at LIA.

Under Giant’s leadership, Ogilvy Taiwan was named Greater China Agency of the Year, Creative Agency of the Year, and Digital Agency of the Year by Campaign Asia in 2020, and for seven consecutive years it was named Taiwan Creative Agency of the Year.

In 2016 he was named Outstanding Advertising Creative of the Year, and he was selected as one of GQ magazine’s Men of the Year 2016, raising the standing of advertising professionals in society. In addition to his work as an advertising creative, Giant has directed commercial films, music videos and short films, has written a magazine column, and currently serves as an assistant professor in the Fu Jen Catholic University advertising program. He is the author of three books, I Am Running (2013), When Creative Met Creativity (2015) and Obsession with Objects (2021).
