Freelance graphic designer working working with arts, media, sport, fashion, energy, transport & tech clients.
I started my studio Apropos- in 2000 and have since worked on campaigns with sports and lifestyle brands including Reebok, Helly Hansen, Musto, Salomon, Clarks and Tommy Hilfiger. I created an advertising campaign with Channel 4 to promote the launch of Will & Grace and a series of US comedies (Ally McBeal and Friends). I have designed a series of book jackets on British playwrights for Faber & Faber. We also worked with LOVEFiLM (now Amazon Video) to simplify their web design. Also information graphics for Vodafone, Emirates Airlines, British Airways and Heathrow Airport.
Current clients include Saffron Hall, a state of the art 740 seat performance venue, and Jesus College Oxford for whom we designed a new brand identity ahead of their 450th anniversary. We recently completed a re-brand for Energy Systems Catapult, the organisation charged with re-structuring and de-carbonising the UK energy system. I also work with arts organisations including the Contemporary Art Society, Britten Sinfonia and the Academy of Ancient Music.
On graduating from the Royal College of Art in 1997 I became a senior designer at Neville Brody's Research Studios. Projects included creating a variety of brand, advertising and product graphics for Salomon. Packaging illustrations for Macromedia. Web design for 4thEstate Publishing, Yedioth Ahronoth (Israeli news portal) and the launch of Guardian Unlimited website. I also attended the FUSE98 conference in San Francisco.
I occasionally take part in hack events, lecture at colleges and speak at design conferences.
Currently working on scenic graphics for "BEANO: The Art of Breaking the Rules", opening Autumn '21 at Somerset House.
