Russie Miessi, They/ Them, Strategist at Born Social, D&AD New Blood Shift Alumni.
In 2019 Russie wanted a shift from doing garment technology within the fashion sector and stepping into their love of advertising. In 2020 Russie became New Blood Shift Alumni. In completing the course, they fell in love with a pathway in strategy.
Their first placement was starting within a start-up as the first hires for New Commerical Arts as a Customer Experience strategist. This is where Russie worked closely with the UX for Halifax.
They moved on to join McCann London as a Jr Strategist. Within the role, they worked with many clients including NYX PMU,aLoreal and Nurofen, and Reckitt and on Global pitches. Russie’s efforts were recognised and they were promoted to be a Strategist whilst at McCann.
During their time at McCann Russie wanted to give a platform for Jr’s, upcoming and undiscovered talents to have a space to voice their opinions and challenge the Ad world.
Russie Set up the collective, Fax No Printer in October 2021, a Cultural Insight Newsletter. Within the first week, the newsletter gained 300 active subscribers. Since then the collective has grown from 3 members to 5 members, an Instagram platform has been set up and FNP engaged in talks and events.
