Currently working in-house as Design Head for the EMEIA regions, for a global PR and Comms, SaaS company. I have been working in the design industry for over 15 years, and somewhere in the timeline I completed a Ph.D with a specialism in Arabic typography.
I have seen tech for design solutions, needs, and services grow rapidly to an exceptionally high standard of possibilities. The potential of social media and the general media landscape is so powerful, it is challenging designers to constantly, and constructively keep their creativity fresh, ideas relevant, and give them a sustainable age.
The global reach of creativity and ideas has meant that designers have an expectation to be more fluid, and subjective to time, trends, technology, people, politics, money, ideas, perceptions, cultures, and dare I say globalisation. From my own evolution I've come to understand, that in order for creatives to mature in current times, they need to have an astute nature, the drive, and articulate voices to impact and progress their creativity, their workplaces, their teams, and their peers in the industry. And have the ambition to leave a mark of their legacy in the world.
I still wake up every morning with the same excitement, and drive to design every single day as I have done for 15 years. I absolutely still get chills from new ideas and concepts and the drama of challenging peoples perceptions. This is why I design!
