James Gilbey is a multi-disciplined executive who has that rare combination of creative skill and business acumen. A native Brit, he has worked all over the world creating brands and content that delights audiences and delivers on their commercial goals.

Currently he is Director of Content and Strategy, Global Design for The Coca-Cola Company. He helps innovate new and exciting products and initiatives while ensuring design tells compelling and enganing stories about itself, true to the rich heritage of Coca-Cola.

Previously, he was VP and Group Creative Director at Discovery Warner Bros full-service 200-person in-house creative agency at their headquarters in Silver Spring, Maryland. In his 13 years there, he oversaw production, design, digital advertising, branding and promotion for Discovery’s family of networks, including Discovery Channel, TLC, and Animal Planet, but considers his greatest achievement was helping start the 'Creating Change' initiative where all his creative team lent their services to local and regional non profits. He and his team won 60 Promax/BDA awards, multiple Addys, 2 D&AD’s, a CLIO, a Design Week Award, a BAFTA, an Emmy, a Cannes Lion, two Webbys, and the IHAF In House Agency of the Year award.

Once listed as one of Broadcasting’s top 100, he has worked in Asia for The Disney Company, in the UK for the BBC, Channel 4 and various ad agencies and in Europe for Viacom/MTV.

He speaks and writes on the art of advertising and creative across the world
and continues to publish articles and blog posts when time allows.

He currently resides in Atlanta, USA where he loves to cook and plays deep house music way too loud much to the annoyance of his wife Dawn, his 2 year old daughter and dog Remy.
