I'm an ad man, with three decades of experience in the creative industry. And the co-creator of the 'Deck of Brilliance', a comprehensive set of idea-generation tools for advertising professionals.
I've been fortunate to work with many gifted and inspiring creative leaders in the course of a career that has taken me across the Asia Pacific region. On the way, I’ve myself picked up over 300 awards including gold lions from Cannes, gold statuettes from Clio’s and yellow pencils from the D&AD. And I was honoured to be included in 2012 D&AD Copy Book among the writers I’ve always looked up to. And more recently, in Adweek's 2020 list of top 100 creative people in the world.
Besides ideas, my eyes also light up at the mention of plants, travel or wine. I am a self-taught and life-long student of botany and used to volunteer as a plant guide for the Nature Society Singapore and the National Parks Board. Back in 2001, I also supported Louis Ng and his efforts to found Singapore's first animal welfare and wildlife rescue organization, called ACRES. They are a dedicated, selfless and fun bunch and I am proud to have served as their President for over ten years. If you’re ever in Singapore and need a python rescued from your plumbing or a monkey relocated from your balcony, ACRES is whom you call.
