Melissa Weigel

Melissa Weigel has been a key member of Montreal-based arts and entertainment studio, Moment Factory since its beginnings in 2002.

As creative leader, director and innovator, she specializes in the creation of larger-than-life multimedia experiences for the stage and public spaces.

Melissa thrives on cross-media collaboration and finding the common language that makes complex multidisciplinary projects possible, and her experience as a contemporary dancer and performance artist have been influential in her directorial approach.

She has acted as multimedia director for many renowned artists including Madonna’s MDNA World Tour, JayZ at Carnegie Hall, Celine Dion’s permanent show in LA. Melissa has also directed creative teams on high-profile events around the world, from elaborate royal weddings in Doha with celebrity event planner Preston Bailey to the Vancouver Winter Olympics awards ceremony, as well as numerous projects for Cirque Du Soleil.

She wrote and directed the original multimedia shows Elixir in Montreal and Danse des Lumières for the Fêtes Des Lumières festival in Lyon, France.

Most recently, Melissa completed a yearlong public space project at the New Tom Bradley Terminal, Los Angeles International Airport, where she participated in the creation of seven iconic multimedia installations that coexist within an orchestrated, immersive and responsive environment.
