I am Principle/Creative Director of ThinkPenny Branding & Design in Miami, a multi-disciplinary branding, advertising & design studio with a passion for growing, creating and launching brands. My career began at Hill Holliday in Boston where I started as a Jr. Art Director, was fortunate to have learned from the best, won many awards, and subsequently went on to be Vice President, Sr. Art Director at Mullen, then back to Hill Holliday as VP/ACD before moving to Miami as Creative Director, of the largest agency in Miami at the time which through a series of mergers and aquisitions is now part of DDB. I have worked on everything from cars to cruise lines, to fashion retail, healthcare, packaged goods, luxury goods & technology in TV Broadcast, Print and Digital. I founded ThinkPenny in 2000.
Since graduating from the Art institute of Boston, I have been passionate about giving back by teaching, realizing that if it hadn't been for the influence of the teachers I have been lucky to learn from, my life would have been very different. While in Boston, I taught at the Art Institute of Boston, New England School of Art & Design, have been guest speaker at Mass College of Art and Emerson College.
I have been teaching at Miami Ad School since 1995 one evening a week. My classes include Typography, Visual Impact, Design Influences, Art Direction, Product Creation, Package Design and I mentor students to help them find their strengths and to succeed through their specific talents. I also encourage my students to participate in award shows like D&AD where they can compete with the best and show their stuff.
