We were asked to launch the 16th China International Advertising Festival Exhibit, to be held in Japan, as well as design the exhibit venue. The exhibit theme was ‘China High!’ which expresses the vibrancy and power of China. Using the traditional Chinese kite as a motif, we explored various designs that best expressed contemporary China. While keeping the distinctive designs and forms of Chinese kites, we created four new kites. The mated pair of swallows symbolises city and traffic; the green dragon, body and sports; the panda, food culture; and the red goldfish, fashion and design.
