Lydia Davies is a classically trained pianist who began her musical journey at three years of age. Her early days of education began at the Yamaha Music School for piano, it was here, where they discovered she had perfect pitch. Lydia began composing songs and formed a pop duet, with her sister Sophie, singing, recording and performing around Australia, later she entered the world of scoring for modern media.
Today her works have been featured in documentaries, Hollywood Trailers, TV Shows and Global advertisement campaigns. Some of Lydia’s recent accolades can be heard in Blockbuster Trailers such as, Walt Disney’s “Beauty and The Beast”, “Lady And The Tramp”, “Dumbo” and Warner Brothers “Wonder Woman”. Other music placements include, TVC’s such as Levi, Toyota, HP, Hugo Boss, TV shows such as The Hills, Law And Order and The Bachelor."
Lydia composes for the renowned music and sound house Squeak E Clean Studios and has also previously interned with notable songwriters such as Kaveh Cohen, Gardner Cole, known for Madonna’s hit, Open Your Heart. Her work has led her to record in studios in Los Angeles, to Abbey Road,London, and Luc Besson’s studios in Normandie France. Recent musical recognitions include the 2017 Golden Trailer awards for her work on Wonder Woman, the 2018 Australian Women in Music Award for Musical Excellence, and the “Best Ad Of The Week” for HP’s global 12 Days Of Christmas campaign, directed by Michel Gondry.
Lydia is currently composing music for a soon to be released documentary, “MOM”.
