Self-confessed tech, type and advertising nerd. Chris Rowson currently Executive Creative Director and Head of Design at TBWA\Chiat\Day New York and also responsible for founding and launching Design by Disruption,
Chiat’s first design agency.
Prior to TBWA\, Rowson spent 7 years at Ogilvy in both Paris and New York offices working as a creative and building design & maker teams.
Before joining the design and advertising world he worked as a model-maker, creating prototypes for the toy industry. Rowson has worked on some of the world’s most iconic brands including IBM, Coke, McDonald’s, Adidas, Nestle and Perrier and have won over 100
international industry awards including over twenty pencils at D&AD (two yellow).
Working as both a creative and designer in the advertising industry has given him a unique perspective and understanding on how design can help solve advertising problems and visa-versa. Rowson's philosophy is 'think- design-craft' and his best work marries design thinking with creative thinking. He's also a little obsessed with craft.
