Avril Delaney is a Senior Copywriter at Dublin-based agency, Boys + Girls. Her work has been recognised both nationally and internationally, by Cannes Lions, the Webbys, the Institute of Creative Advertising and Design in Ireland, and the Kinsale Shark Awards.
At Boys + Girls, Avril has made innovative, audio-led work for clients such as Three Ireland, Samsung and the Independent Broadcasters of Ireland. Work that includes collaborative cross-genre tracks between emerging Irish artists, experimental music videos, an audio-reactive festival maze, a pop-up restaurant that used technology to bring Irish families separated by emigration together around one table, and a radio spot that caused a national scandal.
Outside of advertising, Avril has curated an exhibition celebrating female creatives to raise money and awareness for abortion rights in Ireland, and co-founded a zine highlighting the importance of voting to a younger generation. In 2018, she literally put words in the President of Ireland’s mouth, writing his voice-over for a campaign video that led to a successful re-election. Yes, she’s claiming that one.
