Next Awards

In partnership with Adobe

This year, emerging professionals can submit their work into D&AD Awards across 33 categories. With Creativity for Good as the only exception, all our main categories have a special subcategory for professionals working for no more than 3 years in the creative industries.

Who is it for?

Budding creatives, designers and crafts practitioners – people working in the industry for three years at most. You can submit work for:

Next Animator
Next Art Director
Next Casting Director
Next Cinematographer
Next Copywriter
Next Creative
Next Designer
Next Director
Next Editor
Next Illustrator
Next Music Video Director
Next Photographer
Next Production Designer
Next Sound Designer/Composer
Next Typographer
Next Visual Effects Artist

There’s no age limit but you must be out of full time education. Also you must not have an established career in a different role within the creative industry, for example as an established art director who has recently taken up photography or directing. If you are a student or a recent graduate, enter the D&AD New Blood Awards.

What do I win?

A D&AD Next Pencil and all the glory that comes with it. Your work showcased at D&AD Festival, in front of an audience of creative influencers, and in the iconic D&AD Annual. And of course, global exposure from D&AD and our media partners.

Entries will be judged by a jury relevant to your category, as part of the D&AD Awards.

What do I need to submit?

Two to three executions, at least one of which must be a commercial piece released after 1 January 2018. The other execution(s) can be either commercial or personal works, self-initiated projects or portfolio pieces completed after 1 January 2018.

To learn more about the judging process, submission formats and other useful information, refer to the D&AD Awards 2019 Entry Guide.
