In 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, almost 45% of American small businesses were at risk of closing. Facebook needed to galvanise the American public to support them and show how the platform makes it easy to help. So Droga5 launched Survive – a film that spotlighted the unfortunate closing of Coogan’s, a place that was legendary to the people of Washington Heights. The film was part of a larger campaign that garnered over 23 million views and drove two million clicks to the Facebook Small Business Hub as this once vibrant restaurant and bar became a symbol for the fight many small businesses were facing.
