SenSura Mio

Award: Wood Pencil

Wood Pencil / Product Design / Consumer Product Design / 2015

SenSura Mio is a paradigm-shifting ostomy pouch that addresses users' emotional needs through design, colour and material. For decades, conventional ostomy bags been a beige colour created to blend with human skin tone, but actually matching very few. SenSura Mio comes in a discrete grey colour that harmonises with all skin tones. Subtle enough to remain invisible under clothing, it's the first pouch produced with real woven textiles, leaving it soft against the skin and making it look less like a medical device and more like a piece of clothing. SenSura Mio combines function with fresh, contemporary design to help reduce the stigma associated with using ostomy appliances.
