This film is a modern take on the classic Christmas staple – Tchaikovsky’s The Nutctracker. Just as in the classical ballet we focus on our heroine Clara as she comes to the rescue of our Nutcracker prince from the advancing mouse king and his minions. Afterwards, instead of romantically eloping with the prince, our heroine prefers to spend the evening with her girlfriends, in a twist on the tale summarised in the end line 'Christmas with spirit'.
