DNA Explainer Animation

Award: Graphite Pencil

Graphite Pencil / Crafts for Design / Animation & Illustration for Websites & Digital Design / 2014

Created for the BBC's online ‘Explainer’ series, Territory Studio's three-minute animation communicates the beauty and intricacy of the double helix form, explaining its pivotal role in the natural world. With help from Dr Matthew Adams and a meticulous script, the animation tells a strong and cohesive story. Stylistic references to 1970's textbook diagrams and science documentaries, with the helix and circle motif at the heart of its form, movement and colour, gives playful and informative illustration of how DNA is central to everything around us.
