Bat For Lashes’ album ‘The Haunted Man’, in essence, is about love, ancestral bloodlines and heritage. For Natasha Khan (Bat For Lashes), this third album was a long-awaited return to form, so there was a strong sense of stripping away layers of her perceived creative self. New York artist Ryan McGinley was handpicked because of his incredible body of figurative work, its beauty and poetry. Shot in Ryan’s studio in May 2012, the man featured in the image was cast from a selection of models whom Ryan works with regularly.
