Coronary heart disease is the biggest killer of women in the UK, yet breast cancer is seen as a bigger health threat. Women are constantly inundated by health scares – but what if we could make them engage with this unpleasant truth, by choice? We enrolled the nation’s funniest women, led by Victoria Wood, and created ‘The Angina Monologues’, a comedy show and special TV event to raise awareness of heart disease amongst women. This hugely successful event saw Victoria Wood win ‘Best Female Comedian’ at the prestigious 2011 British Comedy Awards for her involvement in ‘The Angina Monologues’.
