We were asked to design and produce a range of own-brand greetings cards for the Design Museum Shop. As custodians of good design, the Design Museum demanded the highest quality for the items it commissioned for sale, and that production should be in the UK. Owing to the small numbers involved, we needed to find a flexible way to produce the cards in both ‘Greetings’ and ‘Christmas’ designs; the answer was to print a set of three foil-blocked cards, with separate ‘Greetings’ and ‘Christmas’ sticker sheets. These were packaged as box sets and individually; we used plain boxes with a printed belly band, to encourage their reuse once empty.
