Moodstream was built to showcase Getty Images' three main product offerings: still images, footage and music. Getty Images specifically wanted to raise awareness of the latter two, for which it was not as well known. The target audience were creatives involved in rich media communications in a maturing digital landscape. To reach this audience, whose passion and livelihood is creativity on the web, Moodstream was developed as equal parts art piece, usable tool and exploratory toy. The site is a brainstorming tool enabling users to input moods related to a project and see a stream of relevant media to help develop their ideas. It also allowed them to share the work with colleagues and the wider creative community.
