Adi Dassler's Workshop

Award: Graphite Pencil

Graphite Pencil / TV & Cinema Crafts / Special Effects / 2009

This is the story of Adi Dassler, the founder of adidas. He handmade his first shoe in 1925. Not many people know this, but adidas is a shortened version of his name. That’s why we wanted to make the film to tell the world about the heritage of the adidas brand. The entire film is a 1:3 recreation of Adi Dassler’s world. Using stop frame animation, the viewer is taken on a journey through the history of adidas as told by its founder. The set itself took 30 people over one month to build in miniature, and is a masterpiece of craftsmanship.
