Spring Fashion 2008
Wood Pencil / Magazine & Newspaper Design / Magazine Front Covers / 2009
For the spring fashion issue cover of New York Magazine, we were incredibly fortunate. We had the opportunity to work with photographer Bert Stern as he recreated his well-known 'Last Sitting' photos of Marilyn Monroe, but with today’s contemporary actress, Lindsay Lohan. Stern duplicated the original 1962 set, right down to the lighting. Lohan was unafraid of some of the eerier parallels between herself and Monroe, and she embraced every aspect of the shoot. Seven hours and hundreds of frames later, the pictures were made. The image chosen for the cover best represented the spirit of this fascinating project.
