The new surveillance law (the FRA-law) in Sweden has been widely debated. The law makes possible the mass surveillance of email traffic, SMS and phones of Swedes without any suspicion of illegal activity. It’s the FRA (Swedish National Defence Radio Establishment) that performs the mass surveillance. The legislation overwrites the Swedish constitution that grants the right for journalists to protect their sources; a right that guarantees anonymity to anyone who contacts a journalist. The newspaper Fria Tidningen wanted people to stop talking and start acting. As a solution, we created a simple standard text that people can put in their emails that will make FRA’s computerised search programs react. The text can be changed randomly with different 'dangerous' trigger words.
