The Venus of Prevention

In Ecuador, 60% of pregnancies are high-risk. For rural communities with limited medical information, we created The Venus of Prevention. We redesigned the ancestral Venus of Valdivia, a trusted cultural icon, into an intuitive visual system. Using precise textures and markings, we translated clinical symptoms like edema and preeclampsia into a physical code. This isn't just awareness; it’s a functional tool that empowers women to act. An open-source toolkit ensures this life-saving design scales globally, proving that when information speaks your language, it saves lives.
