Journalists play a crucial role in shaping how we understand the world, yet many face threats, imprisonment, and even death for reporting the truth. In collaboration with Reporters Without Borders, Affinity created M.I.A.* to bring attention to this issue. Leveraging the familiarity of second-hand marketplaces, the campaign presents everyday products that once belonged to journalists who were silenced. What appears to be a typical listing gradually reveals their story. By scanning a QR code, users can explore these narratives, and through the act of “buying,” contribute to supporting press freedom, turning passive browsing into meaningful action.
