BA (Hons) Illustration

An exciting course that fosters creativity and innovation by enhancing your creative skills and developing your analytical and practical illustration skills. Visual research and drawing is at the heart of this course, drawing from life and from your imagination and from memory. You will push the boundaries of your practice, challenge definitions of illustration and discover your own distinctive and original personal visual language. Exploring the constantly evolving art of contemporary illustration in a wide range of sectors and contexts, including publishing and adult and children%u2019s narrative, editorial and reportage for magazines and newspapers to illustration for design, moving image, advertising, fashion in the music industries and moving image, via a broad range of stimulating staff set, live, competition and self-initiated project briefs. Ideas, processes and techniques are explored in a diverse range of media and workshops in narrative and sequential illustration, drawing, text and image, collage, book arts, 3D illustration, animation, photography, digital imaging and printmaking. Seminars and critiques take place within a supportive and creative illustration base studio with an atmosphere that encourages you to build the confidence required to become an intelligent image maker and professional illustrator
