D&AD New Blood Shift: Meet D'Angelo

Born and raised in NYC, I have always been involved in the Arts. As a kid I would doodle on my school work, and loved receiving art supply sets as a gift. It wasn't until high school my creative journey really begin. The Studio Museum in Harlem is where I learned the basics of photography and received my certification. Being a participant of the program "Expanding The Walls", I got to create and curate an exhibition featuring my work.

In college, I continued with photography as my concentration. After taking a graphic design course, my focus shifted. I did not complete school but my education did not stop. I went on to discover the organization Made in Brownsville. There, I would learn the fundamentals of design and become familiar with the Adobe Applications Illustrator and Photoshop. Recognized for my hard work, I later had the opportunity to become part of the creative team. At Made in Brownsville I had a hand in working on various projects, both print and digital.

I am now a freelance Graphic Designer. I specialize in logo design and websites and work with clients like Pitkin Avenue BID (Business Improvement District). As a photographer I love to capture street, fashion and genuine moments that tell a story. I am passionate about design and I hope to inspire others and show them a career in the creative industry is realistic.
