Part cookbook, part cultural history, this extensively researched collection of 550 authentic recipes encompasses home-cooked classics with descriptions of each dish’s origins. Several cultural relics inform the design, such as old dictionaries, including their two-column grids and typographic covers. Keep Calm and Carry On is loosely hinted at both in the title arrangement and the headline font choice. A pink-toned paper like that used by The Financial Times, houndstooth endpapers, and beautiful photographs of food and scenery complete this ode to British cuisine.
