Dingdong Maicai, an online grocery store accessible through Alipay, launched a variety of watermelons named 8424, which is sweeter than others, with a sugar content of 12.2%. Its packaging was designed to immediately show a fruit lover just how sweet the 8424 watermelons are, and put a smile on people’s faces as they receive their order. Many customers who received 8424 watermelons actively shared the package on social media, with 23,000 people participating in the discussion.
