Pride Jubilee

2019 marked 50 years since the Stonewall Uprising, the riotous event that sparked the LGBT+ movement. Pride in London set out to celebrate the anniversary in a way that only London could: with a striking, queer jubilee. The poster campaign features an all-LGBT+ cast presenting different historic milestones and, in keeping with the jubilee, borrows from the imagery of royal portraiture, using the visual language of privilege to elevate the most marginalised. The historic moments are referenced through era-appropriate props such as bricks, handcuffs and t-shirts – symbolising LGBT+ history.
