Rather than resist the shift from paper to screens, The New York Public Library wanted to meet people exactly where they already were: their phones. Introducing Insta Novels – the first ever digital library created by turning classic works of literature into Instagram Stories. We hacked Instagram to convert complete works of classic literature into long-form Instagram Stories. We didn’t just achieve the biggest increase in engagement @NYPL had ever seen, we changed the perception of a library from just a building with books to an institution that makes access to information at its core.
