In 2012, john st. released a video titled ‘Buyral’ about a professional clicking service you pay to make your videos go viral. The self- promotion poked fun at how far clients and agencies will go to get views. Within days it had gone viral itself. In under a week it had over half a million views, reached number seven on the Global Ads chart and received international coverage – including the LA Times, Huffington Post, Mashable, Buzzfeed and Al Jazeera Europe. We also received 20,000 visits and more than 500 emails at buyral.ca. And we didn’t pay for a single click.
