IL is a new high-end monthly magazine for men, dedicated to contemporary passions and consumptions, and which uses current events as a key to interpret changes in lifestyles. Sold together with Il Sole 24 Ore, IL provides news, interviews, and reports about the latest lifestyle trends around the world. The idea is to talk about 'soft' news as if it were 'hard' news; in a serious, journalistic way which is also informative and elegant. As a result, the magazine design is influenced by weekly news magazines and fashion style magazines. It also takes great care over typography and headline design, drawing inspiration from the strong and simple design of popular 70s magazines.
