The objective of this project was that of any successful music promo: to blend the song, imagery and artist integrity into a product designed to help define and promote the band. Because the budget was low, we relied on websites such as YouTube for repeat viewings and sharing. We wanted to reflect the imagery of the song, which is about growing up in the 80s, and focused on memories of the period: football, gymnastics, playgrounds, computer games and fireworks. Visualising the imagery through dice (with each die as a pixel and their dots representing a tonal value) gelled nicely with the track, which had an abstract, mesmerising quality. Dice are also an essential part of board games, adding potency to the idea.
