In 2007, the theme of fine particles and environmental pollution dominated discussions. Mercedes-Benz responded accordingly and fitted the Atego (the city truck) with BlueTec environmentally friendly diesel technology. This needed to be communicated to the general public. Where is environmental pollution more visible than on the walls of our cities? And what would our cities look like if trucks did not produce so much dirt? Why not just show a few examples, on busy main roads in conurbations such as Hamburg, Berlin, Munich and Stuttgart? Dirty walls in the cities were cleaned up to reveal the shape of an Atego. This transformed perfectly normal walls into means of communication.
