I used a digital stills camera that shoots eight frames per second, which is a valid film speed, and mixed this with 35mm black-and-white film and a variety of Hi-Definition video formats. I just tried to capture simple reality – spectacle and truth. The final video was received in a very interesting but controversial way: hard core Johnny Cash fans did not like the video – they saw it as celebrities trying to get exposure – but the younger audience loved it.
