Daylesford Organic is an organic business producing and retailing their own organic meat, cheeses, milk, bread, patisseries, fruit and vegetables as well as a range of fresh soups, ready meals and own branded products. The brief was to come up with a solution to package their fresh milk that would have minimum environmental impact, whilst retaining the clean and sophisticated feel of the Daylesford ethos. The company decided to invest in Lean Pack by EcoLean, an eco-friendly material that breaks down into water, carbon dioxide and chalk. This material is lighter and less bulky than other conventional packaging, it takes less energy to produce and transport, and there is less waste overall. The printing is the same for all three types of milk, whilst the simple emblematic heart shaped sticker denominates the type of milk at a minimum cost.
