Untouchable Lessons

The Taliban banned education for Afghan girls over 12. Monotype and Penguin created "Untouchable Lessons," transforming a cultural taboo into a secret educational tool. We turned sanitary pads, items the regime considers impure and refuses to inspect, into safe, hidden textbooks. This custom line features ink-free lessons thermally embossed directly onto the cotton, keeping them completely safe for the body. The packaging's absorbency "drops" act as a secret code indicating the lesson's level. As the pad is used, menstrual blood naturally erases the typography, destroying all evidence. This protects girls from severe punishment while defending their right to read.
