To build awareness around Berlin's museums by getting tourists interested in the history of the Berlin wall, BBDO Proximity Dusseldorf used a surprising technology to create a time-travelling installation. The last remaining sections of the Wall were turned into projection surfaces, however, the projections themselves could only be triggered by camera flashes. So, as tourists posed for what they thought was just a snapshot, they were surprised to see Berlin's hidden history illuminated behind them, encouraging them to seek more information.
