In Malaysia local fruits are plentiful, but they are seldom written about, promoted or celebrated in local culture. A series of hand-crafted posters were designed for three common local fruits – durian, coconut and pineapple – for an exhibition called ‘Makanlah Buah-buahan Tempatan’. The audience connects instantly with the posters by recalling their forgotten love for the fruits, through memories of their distinct characteristics of skin texture, colour and taste, which are elevated in the posters with the use of colours and paper cut techniques.
