Music Pieces

Award: Wood Pencil

Wood Pencil / TV & Cinema Crafts / Editing / 2008

Music Pieces brought together 128 musicians in London’s Alexandra Palace to perform an original piece of music by just playing one note each. The challenge of the edit was to tell this story clearly through building shots of individual notes being struck to eventually reveal an acoustic grid of musicians arranged by instrument, creating spectacular waves of sound and movement as each note is played in sequence.
