Award: Wood Pencil

Wood Pencil / Direct / Print / 2008

While on production in southern California, we heard there was a surfing museum in Huntington Beach. We were surprised that we had never heard of it before. So we went down there and, sure enough, there it was: the International Surfing Museum, two blocks from the beach. After our visit, we asked some local surfers if they were aware that there was a surfing museum in the area. They said no. This kind of ignorance was simply unacceptable, and we took it upon ourselves to change it. We also discovered local residents knew little about their surfing history.
