Nigrum Corpus

Nigrum Corpus reimagines the format of medical textbooks to expose structural racism in healthcare. The book presents 20 fictional diseases inspired by real accounts of discrimination against Black patients. With art direction inspired by classical anatomical manuals, the project builds a visual language through illustration, editorial composition and 3D modelling, with AI used only as support for image refinement. Distributed across Brazilian universities, the book sparked debate and encouraged changes in medical education.
