Astrid Stavro graduated with a First Class Certificate from Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design and with Distinction from The Royal College of Art in London, before relocating to Barcelona where she directed the award-winning Astrid Stavro Studio for ten years.

Stavro has an international reputation for strongly rooted conceptual design solutions and a clean, distinctive typographic approach. She lectures on design related subjects across the globe. Her work has been widely published and exhibited and she is a frequent Jury Member in design competitions worldwide.

Stavro’s work has been recognised nationally and internationally with over one hundred creative awards including D&AD, Laus, Creative Review's The Annual, Design Week Awards, The International Society of Typographic Designers, The Art Directors Club of New York, Graphis, Type Directors Club of New York and The Art Directors Club of Europe.

She has written for various journals including Creative Review, Grafik, Eye and Étapes and is currently the Design & Art Director as well as Editor at large of Elephant magazine.

In September 2013 she co-founded Atlas with Pablo Martín. Atlas is an award winning branding and design consultancy with over 40 years of international experience and knowledge. Clients include Phaidon Press, Camper, Jijibaba, Hachette Rusconi, Laurence King, Frame Publishers, Random House Mondadori, IBM, Grupo Planeta, The Reina Sofía Museum, YCN, Barcelona’s Center of Contemporary Art (CCCB), Mahou San Miguel, Miró Foundation, La Fábrica, Santa & Cole, Generalitat de Catalunya and the Barcelona Design Museum amongst many others.

Stavro is a member of The International Society of Typographic Designers (ISTD) and AGI (Alliance Grafique Internationale).
