Atlas were commissioned to make Elephant more timely and journalistic, and to bring the magazine closer to the lively culture that thrives in and around contemporary art. Most importantly, Atlas were tasked with making Elephant look less like a design magazine. By keeping the visual language playful but transparent, Atlas avoided style-over-substance and let the content speak for itself.
