People, like onions, have layers to safeguard their privacy. We disclose our most private thoughts only when we feel secure. WhatsApp prioritizes privacy with End-to-End Encryption by default for every message. To make the point to America, where people send millions of unencrypted SMS every day, we created a radio spot where two friends engage in a private conversation, and just when they're about to share their most private stuff, their voices suddenly encrypt, rendering gibberish and random characters, mirroring how WhatsApp’s End-to-End Encryption protects every message against bad actors.
