Find Your Own Way

Find Your Own Story follows a young girl’s journey to self-realisation by depicting the fantasy world that is her mental landscape in a realistic and visceral way. The film takes place in a typical Japanese school, where its heroine runs against the wind down a long, undulating hallway. She hesitates briefly before bursting out into a flower-filled courtyard where the headwind she had been facing becomes a tailwind, which drives her forward to join her best friend on the school auditorium stage. The two then join hands before running through a crowd of classmates and into the sunny world outside.
